In case a student is put on the waiting list for admission it does not carry with it a guaranteed admission. Candidates will be given admission after paying the necessary fees and going through the medical check-up and personal interview successfully.
WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION?
1. Filled in Application Form
2. Fees paid receipt
3. Original Transfer Certificate (hardcopy) along with online transfer in the SATS website followed by SATS number.
4. Aadhar card photocopy of both Student and parents  
5. Recent passport sized photographs - Student’s: 6 Copies, Parents & guardian’s – 1 copy each
6. Medical certificate: A medical form duly filled and signed by a registered medical practitioner/physician.
7. Photocopy of previous School’s Academic Report
8. Original birth certificate of the child to be enclosed along with the application form for Grade 1 admission.

WHERE IS THE SCHOOL LOCATED?
The school is at “Doddabele”, near Kengeri, close to Bangalore-Mysore Highway. It is behind the Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital.
HOW FAR IS THE SCHOOL FROM BENGALURU? HOW TO FIND IT?
The school is about 20 KM from Bangalore City Railway Station/Main KSRTC Bus Stand.Buses from Majestic City Bus Stand via Kengeri (#220E) to DoddabeleBuses from KR Market via Kengeri (#220D) to DoddabeleBuses from Majestic (#226N) Direct bus towards Bidadi via Kengeri. HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO REACH SCHOOL FROM BANGALORE?
If you travel by road in your own vehicle, it takes 30 minutes to drive, and by bus it will take 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.
 
 
 
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF BASAVA SAMITHI?
Basava Samithi is a charitable institute headed by Shri Aravind Jatti as Honourable President. The Basava Samithi Trust included eminent administrators and positions for Standing Committee, Working Committee & Education sub-committee.
HOW MANY CHILDREN ARE IN THE SCHOOL?
As of today we have about 175 children in the school, out of which almost all are boarding school students from different districts of Karnataka.
HOW BIG IS THE SCHOOL AND WHAT ACADEMIC INFRASTRUCTURE HAS BEEN PROVIDED?
The pollution free campus is nestled in a square cup/crown shaped valley at the Kengeri limits of the Vrushabhavathi ranges. The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. We have provided computers & projectors and other teaching aids, including multimedia. laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Life Sciences, Language, Multimedia, Computer, History, Geography Labs have been provided. Science models displays many modern and scientific instruments. We have a well-equipped library, playgrounds, educational DVD’s, Information Technology equipment etc.
HOW BIG IS THE STUDENT HOSTEL? WHAT DO WE PROVIDE TO THEM?
The student hostel has 8 wings in the dormitory and each wing of our hostel can accommodate 30 children. The first floor is also opened. In each dormitory boarders of the same age group are housed together. Each child is provided a bed, mattress, quilt, pillow, bed-cover and bedside table chair at the common room.
IS HOSTEL AIR-COOLED/AIR CONDITIONED?
The hostel is not air-conditioned, but provides hot & cold water facility. It has a Gujarat Model Boiler  and solar water heatrs which provide hot water for the students.
IS THE GIRLS HOSTEL SEPARATE FROM TEACHER/DORM TEACHERS/WORKING WOMEN STAFF?
Entry is restricted to hostel building, strictly for the ladies staff and girl students. We have a separate wing for girls in the same hostel building. There is a separate entrance for the girls. There is no possibility for the outsiders to enter in the girls hostel.
WHO LOOKS AFTER THE BOARDERS?
There are  Dorm Parents on each floor to look after the boarders. In addition to this there are maids & housekeepers to clean and help the younger children get ready in time for their daily schedules. They also help girls and unwell students.
ARE THERE STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE KARNATAKA AT BRGS?
Yes, we have students from all over the state and outside the state. Special care is taken to ensure that multicultural, multi linguistic students settle down in this new culture.
HAVE YOU MADE SEPARATE ARRANGEMENT FOR GIRLS?
The campus itself is exclusively for girl students, looked after by Dorm Parents.
WHAT ARRANGEMENT HAVE YOU MADE FOR SICK STUDENTS?
There is a separate treatment room/clinic under the Home Nurses care. A team of lady doctors visit from RR Hospital every day in an ambulance/van & also the doctors will be called when required. On the doctors advice, children are admitted in the Raja Rajeshwari Medical & Teaching Hospital which is just adjacent to our school hostel.
HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE ACADEMIC SHORTCOMINGS OF THE HOSTELIERS?
Committe separate classes are held in the afternoon or on general holidays. Remedial coaching for all the below average students from 3 pm to 4 pm.
WHAT DO THE CHILDREN DO DURING THE WEEKENDS?
The calendar of events is planned to undergo certain co-curricular, extra-curricular activities i.e. School Band, Karate, Yoga, PPT, Educational Movies etc. are organized in the campus.
WHEN DO THEY GO FOR OUTINGS? WHO ACCOMPANIES THEM?
Once in a month they are escorted by warden/teachers/school team.
 
 
 
HOW IS THE FOOD IN THE HOSTEL?
Quality home-style, hygienic and nutritious vegetarian Indian, Chinese and Continental food is served in the hostel. RO drinking water is always served also.
WHAT ARRANGEMENTS HAVE YOU MADE FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF THE CHILDREN?
The hosteliers play indoor & outdoor games. They go to the ground for cycling. They watch T.V. for half an hour every day and also read newspapers and weekly magazines.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO BRGS?
A certain level of academic achievement is expected for admission to the school so that the child can enjoy her stay at the school. BRGS can attend to the needs of all the general and normal children but will not be able to cater to the demands of a few students who have special health or emotional problems.
WHICH ARE THE GRADES FOR WHICH ADMISSION CAN BE SOUGHT?
The admissions will be available for the following levels: Classes Nursery to PUC both for day students and boarding students.
WHAT IS THE NORMAL ADMISSION PROCEDURE?
The decision for admission will be based on the information provided in the application form as well as on the performance of students in the Entrance Tests and Personal Interviews.
 HOW CAN I REGISTER MY NAME FOR ADMISSION?
Application for admission in the prescribed application forms should be submitted at the School Office/Administrative Office duly filed along with the prescribed Registration Fee to get registered.
SHOULD I TAKE AN ENTRANCE TEST BEFORE ADMISSION?
After registration, the applicant has to take a placement test based on the syllabus in the previous class i.e. current grade in which she is studying. There is no "Entrance Test" as such. Admission is based on the suitability of the candidate.
WHAT IS PROVISIONAL ADMISSION?
Selected candidates will be intimated and given provisional admission. Selection is based strictly on the performance of students only.
 
 
 
HOW CAN WE GO BY BUS OR TRAIN?
There are many buses going to Bangalore. You can go by a Bangalore-Mysore train and get down at Kengeri Railway Station, then take a taxi or bus/auto to Doddabele Basavashrama School Campus.
HOW FAR IS THE SCHOOL FROM MYSORE?
It is about 120 KMs from Mysore, 3 hours away. 
 WHEN WILL THE SCHOOL BE UPGRADED?
The Basava Residential Girls School has affiliation/permission to run the Pre-University courses i.e. PUC-I & PUC-II, and will add one class sections each year depending upon the infrastructure availability & the students admission in the campus.
IS SCHOOL AFFILIATED TO CBSE?
No, at present, it is affiliated to State Board (Government Of Karnataka) English Medium. Processes are on to offer CBSE also.
IS THE SCHOOL SAME AS KITTUR RANI CHANNAMMA RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL FOR GIRLS?
Yes, we are under the same education philosophy, management concept and follow the same curriculum and system for the betterment of girl students. Both institutions are of the vision product of great administrators, educationists with eminent visionary - former Chief Minister of Karnataka & Former Vice President of India. Dr. B.D. Jatti, who established the Basava Residential Girls School Campus of 65 acres dedicated land & required infrastructure. Shri Aravind Jatti is the president of Basava Samithi, and is also a Management Committee member of KRCRS-Kittur, which is getting grants from Government of Karnataka, however, BRGS is a self-financed institution.
 
 
 
 
 
WHEN CAN THE PARENTS MEET THE CHILDREN?
Once in a month usually on the third Saturday or with the prior appointment from the Warden & Headmistress, the parents will be allowed to meet their children.

WHAT IS THE MODE OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CHILDREN AND PARENTS?
They can ring up/receive on the specific days and timings as scheduled and intimated.
CAN PARENTS CALL UP THEIR CHILDREN?
Yes, on specific days and timings only.
HOW ARE PARENTS INFORMED ABOUT THE PROGRESS OF THEIR WARD?
Parents are informed quarterly about their child’s progress at school. They can meet teachers on monthly PTM’s and with prior appointments otherwise. Updates will also be sent by the Uolo Notes App. 
DO YOU HAVE QUALIFIED TEACHING STAFF?
They are qualified as per Department of Education (Government of Karnataka State) norms and recruitment rules. All the teachers are post-graduate & trained and experienced in the relevant post.
HOW DO YOU APPOINT THE TEACHERS?
They are selected and trained by the BRGS Leadership Team as per the Department of Education (Government of Karnataka State).
DO YOU HAVE ANY PROVISION FOR THE ORIENTATION (PROGRAMS) OF THE TEACHERS?
Yes, the BRGS Leadership Team  organizes regular in-service trainings and orientation programmes for the teachers and Heads of School.
WHAT STEPS HAVE YOU TAKEN TO CHECK THE INDISCIPLINE AMONG HOSTELIERS?
We follow a zero tolerance system. No act of indiscipline is ignored. We take immediate action. We have discipline committe consisting of teachers and parents.
